Proposed Deadlines for Vision Project

The assignment offers a choice from the following three options:
(1) A major vision statement
(2) An actual presentation for a real or imaginary school leadership team
(3) A publishable article for an audience other than school library media

Regardless of whether each of us chooses format 1, 2, or 3, the proposed deadlines below can still apply. I am proposing Mondays because it seems like the logical day when we all meet to talk anyway after the weekly session with our professor.

Monday, June 16th @ 6:30pm: Freewrite/Brainstorm, Working Title, Research
Monday, June 23rd @ 6:30pm: Research
Monday, June 30th @ 6:30pm: Research
Monday, July 7th @ 6:30pm: First Draft (minus intro)
Monday, July 21st @ 6:30pm: Second Draft
Monday, July 28th @ 6:30pm: Third Draft (including intro & title)
Monday, August 4th @ 6:30pm: Final Revisions
*Friday, August 8th @ 6:30pm: Submission*

I am not sure if the final submission date is correct here. the 8th is the last day of summer school, but I think the prof is giving us until the 10th to submit. Can anyone help please verify this date?

What are your thoughts on these deadlines?

Thank you. This is very straightforward and practical. As many of us will be taking the philosophies and practices outlined by Dr. Loertscher back into our working environments and presenting them to faculty who may not be familiar with these strategies, it is wise to consider a plan that moves incrementally through the process. Now I just need to come up with some suitable brainstorming. Cheers

Hi Susan,
Am I correct in thinking that we are submitting individual papers but collaborating on ideas? If so, maybe we should set collaborative deadlines for sharing ideas rather than individual vision project ones. I may be totally incorrect on this, but that's my read. Please let me know what you think...

I had the same question about the Vision Project being a group or individual project. I heard back from Dr. L that it is an individual project unless people are at the same school or if someone is not at a school and wants to work with someone who is. We can share ideas in our group for the project but still submit our own.

I agree with Joanne about collaborating on ideas without indvidual project deadlines.

I copied this discussion to the wiki. I looked over the email he sent out on June 10th and saw there that he didn't want us to post anything here yet. Ooops. I think the wiki is where we have discussions and then this will be where we build the Learning Commons. Heather

I now know where to post my comments. I put my suggestions for the proposed deadlines on an individual thread.
